Keeping Life Simple is my new mantra.
This is a decision I have chosen to live by. I have found that life doesn’t have to be as complicated as we make it. We all have the exact same 24 hours each day; what we do with them is completely up to us. Since launching my new plan that I mentioned in my last post, I have been on a mission to simplify my life.
The first part of this plan is to minimize my “stuff” to just what I love and need. I want to declutter the space I live in as well as my mind. I have begun this process with “the purge.” I’m donating clothes I no longer like or wear. The books I’ve read or will never read, and things I will never use, I will give away. I will tackle the big tasks first thing in the morning. The rest of the day will seem a lot less stressful.
I will try to be present in the moment and focus on what’s important. Unfortunately, or perhaps by fortune, I now have to write everything down in my phone and in my planner and set up reminders to do them. It frees up my mind from constantly trying to remember. It has freed me to concentrate on the more important things. Tomorrow morning, I will be starting my day with 20:20:20—20 minutes of exercise, 20 minutes of meditation, 20 minutes of writing. I have started living my life by example and will continue to do so from now on.
